Kelly Schaefbauer
Co-Founder & Lead Analyst
Kelly is the lead Business Analyst and co-founder of Aligned Applications, where he works with founders navigating Phase 2. He is fascinated by what it takes for a founder to successfully navigate this stage of growth. Phase 2 is where complexity begins to outgrow hard work.
With more than 32 years of experience working with small businesses across technology, managerial leadership, accounting, and human resources, Kelly brings a broad organizational perspective to the challenges founders face. His work focuses on helping founders make their work visible, understand what their growing organization requires, identify what is holding it back, and develop the managerial-leadership practices and management team needed to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
At the center of Kelly’s work is a simple objective: help founders build well-run businesses that do not depend on the founder personally managing everything—and ultimately give the founder greater choice in how they spend their time.
An advocate for lifelong learning, Kelly frequently mentors emerging leaders and volunteers his time with local startups. Outside of work, he enjoys tennis and exploring wine and food from around the world.
